12/04/23 K League1 23 Season, 38th Round - Ulsan vs. Jeonbuk at Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium.

I originally had no plans to go, but my German friend Weeko said he got free tickets the day before, so we decided to go.

It had been a long time since I visited the Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium.

The game was at 14:00, and it took about 1 hour by car from Gimhae.

Although Ulsan Hyundai had already secured the league championship, they held a derby + champions trophy award ceremony, so the excitement was intense, and fans filled up to the third floor.

As a result, during the first half, Jeonbuk's Hong Jeong-ho suffered injuries in a collision with Ulsan's Goalie Cho Hyeon-Woo.

Jeonbuk's Koo Ja-ryong was substituted in for Hong Jeong-ho.

Despite Koo Ja-ryong's relatively small stature, after coming on as a substitute, he showed a good game and did not lag behind against physically stronger players like Martin Adam.

My German friend, who was with me, expressed concern for Hong Jeong-ho, who had played in Augsburg, Germany.

Fortunately, the examination results turned out to be good.

In the first half, Seol Young-woo successfully scored the first goal with a deflected shot.

In the second half, Jeonbuk's offensive efforts began.

Preparing to take a corner kick, Paik Seung-ho.

Haha, another German player! (Darmstadt)

+There's also Lee Dong-jun (Hertha BSC).

He returned to Korean due to military service, but thanks to exemption granted from the Asian Games, he's looking to pursue an European career again.

His contract expires this season, wondering how it'll turn out...

On my Football Manager save, he went to Paderborn (German 2nd division), lol

However, with the solid defense of players like Cho Hyun-woo and Jung Seung-hyun, Jeonbuk couldn't score.

Eom Won-sang, on the other hand, hit the goalpost with a right-footed shot in a counter-attack situation, concluding the match with a 1-0 victory for Ulsan.

The enthusiasm of the away fans was no joke, and the Jeonbuk players came to greet and thank the fans for their support all the way from Jeonbuk.

After the game, players preparing for the league championship award ceremony.

It looks exactly the same as what happens when you win the league in Football Manager

Even the confetti

After the game, there was a performance, and singer Kim Tae-woo was on stage.

He sang four songs, including "사랑비" and "촛불하나"

the two songs are really famous in Korea so

It was quite exciting to sing along!

After the game, with the championship medal in hand, player Lee Myung-jae signed autographs.

Congratulations on the victory! 🏅

And after signing, I managed to take a photo?? Haha!

Thank you to player Lee Gyu-seong, even though I couldn't take a photo because I got blocked by security trying to!

Also, a shoutout to player Ludwigsson, who signed and had a conversation at the exit tunnel. Despite it being his first season, he won the league!

Even though he's from Sweden, I heard he spoke English quite well.

Being the K League 1 team closest to Gimhae, I have a special affection for Ulsan.

The stadium is better without a track, much nicer than the Busan World Cup Stadium. Looking forward to your continued great performances!
